Materials
Every material we choose serves a purpose.
At Paxx Equestrian®, we select materials for their safety, durability, performance and longevity, while considering their environmental impact throughout the product's life. Rather than following a single formula, we choose the material that best suits each product's purpose, creating enrichment that lasts and reducing unnecessary waste wherever possible.
Silicone — Safe, Durable, Long-Lasting
Our lick mats are crafted from premium food-grade silicone, a non-porous material that resists bacteria and mould. Designed for longevity, silicone maintains its integrity over time, supporting hygienic use and long product life while helping reduce unnecessary waste.
Natural Rubber — Flexible, Durable, Considered
Natural rubber provides the flexibility and resilience needed for safe, repeated interaction. Sourced from rubber trees, it is a renewable material chosen for its durability, softness, and ability to withstand daily use without compromising comfort for the horse. Its long lifespan helps reduce the need for frequent replacement.
Hemp-Cotton Blend — Natural, Durable, Biodegradable
Our Nibble Rope combines hemp and organic cotton, fibres chosen for their renewable qualities. Hemp grows quickly and typically requires less water than many conventional fibre crops, while cotton enhances softness for safe interaction. Together, they create a strong, natural material designed to be enjoyed by horses and, at the end of its life, return naturally to the environment.
Recycled Nylon — Responsible Strength
Our multipurpose straps are crafted from recycled nylon, transforming post consumer and industrial waste into a durable, high-performance material. Built for daily use, it supports long-term reliability while helping reduce landfill and ocean waste.
Designed with Intention
Every material is selected with careful consideration for both immediate function and long-term impact. While no product is without an environmental footprint, we prioritise renewable, recycled, biodegradable and long-lasting materials wherever they are the most appropriate choice.
Sustainability is an ongoing responsibility, one we approach with intention, transparency and continuous improvement.
